Londoners Pay Tribute to Jay Dilla and His Legacy

London Dj and Promoter Spin Doctor (Doctors Orders), put together another succesful annual J-Dilla Tribute (J Dilla Changed My Life). The Yearly event is put on in February to celebrate the legacy of the late producer and the musical legacy he left for all Hip-Hoppers worldwide to enjoy. This year it took place at Skala, and Dilla’s mother (Ma Dukes) was in attendance and took the stage announcing that next year she was going to jump on the turntables!

The Detroit Native rose to prominence while producing for Dela-Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Slum VIllage and Common. He had a great solo career as an instrumentalist and rapper as well. Vibe magazine has ranked Dilla in the top 8 Hip-Hop producers in the History of the Genre. The music he produced touched peoples lives, and it can be seen around the world.

Yaheard Films, In conjunction with BStar Productions and Basement Editions is producing an exclusive Kool Keith Documentary. The Short film, goes into his years in The UltraMagnetic MC’s, through his solo-career up to his current projects. “Where as most of the documentaries on Kool Keith focus on his eccentricities , this one focuses on his life and career as a whole. It will give fans a complete picture on how he evolved as an artist, and how he produced his classic albums like Dr. Octagon” said the films director Marcus “Marchitect” Watkins.

The Documentary is set for a mid February release, and will screen on Yaheard.com as well as select theatre’s around the world.

Once a football player with dreams of going pro, Houston’s Young Shayne now has new dreams to live out his career as a rapper. Always known be good with his words, this young Texas MC decided to put the football pads down just X years ago and has since developed a blossoming hip-hop career with a growing internet buzz on several major blogs and websites.

“I don’t even know what you would call it, but its like party music and I have been getting a whole different lane than other artists,” says Young Shayne, “its definitely uplifting a positive music.”

Signing to his brother’s label IllAsMe Records, who also houses Miami Slip-N-Slide rapper J-Cash, Young Shayne has dropped several mixtapes over the course of his young career. Maintaining a blog friendly college fan base, Shayne has also managed to break into rotation on Houston’s main hip-hop radio station 97.9 The Box with his hit song “Good Girl Heart Broke”.

“Young Shayne is a great up and coming talent, that fits into the whole hipster movement out in Houston, and I really think he has a chance to do some really big things. Every now and then there are mc’s that actually have something to say without coming across as preachy. Yaheard Records, artist Marchitect has released his new video “The Realist Things” The self Directed video features Video Myke Clarkson as the director of photography and was filmed in his native Newark Delaware. Marchitect is one half of the group The 49ers (along with Jas Mace), and has had a busy year as they released two full length albums, and an Ep. This song is from his upcoming mixtape Marc:My Words and was produced by David Lee for DLP. The track features a smooth piano, where Marchitect flows straight through, until his memorable hook at the end of the song.
