Pharoahe Monch returned to London’s Jazz Cafe, one of Monch’s regular stomping grounds in the UK, to highlight his heavyweight credentials once more.
As soon as the Queens native walked down onto the stage, it was clear there was a level of excitement from the crowd even though Monch was only lqst in the UK in April 2011. Monch got down to business with tracks from his most recent LP, W.A.R (We Are Renegades.)
Monch also performed a variety of classics from the Rawkus era and dedicated his performance of “Oh No” to the late Nate Dogg. He also performed , Still Standing, Clap and the godzilla sampled Simon Says – a track which still gets any Monch fan hyped. One of his most outstanding performance of the evening was “Triology” – a track Monch had not previously performed live where he showed the crowd his theatrical side.
Along with Monch was DJ, Boogie Blind Eye from the X- Ecutioners who kept the crowd entertained during set breaks.
Monch gave a 5 star performance and left the audience in awe with his tongue twisting flows and intellectual lycrism. London salute’s Pharoahe Monch.
