Here at Yaheard.com the artist/producer Souneik was a friend of ours, and we were a fan of her beats and production. Here is a rare song produced by Souneik where she is rapping on the mic.The Scratches are by Dj Dnc. She had big things ahead of her, but met her untimely passing in mid January 2012 sending shockwaves through the Delaware Valley (South Pennsylvania, Delaware, South Jersey, and Northern Maryland) Hip-Hop Scene. She produced for countless underground artists, and was just on the brink of working with artists with “bigger names” on the rap scene. We will miss her as well as her friends, family and fans. We will do our best to expose you to her music as we receive it here at yaheard.com

The Hottest Samples in Hip-Hop History- Part 1….1-5.
Certain producers have an undeniable ear for the art of sampling (incorporating pieces of another artist audio work to form a new work). For anyone who has ever made a beat, nothing tops the electrical surge that runs through ones body when you find that amazing sample that no one has ever used. Or maybe it’s a sample everyone’s used but you have just been inspired to used it even better.
“Rap is an Art You Can’t Own No Loops”- The Guru
Through out the history of rap, whether it was Dj Premier,The Rza,The Large Professor, or Dr Dre on the west coast, there have been certain samples pulled out of the farthest corners of the deepest crates that have been rearranged, chopped up, and looped into Hip-Hop classics. Rock n Roll Hall of Fame worthy ya dig?
So we’re paying homage to some of those original records that were so good, they just had to be the backbone of a new genre as well as the producers who knew enough musically to hit record on the sampler.
In Random Order
1.The Smilin Billy Suite- The Heath Brothers
The Heath Brothers were a Philadelphia based Jazz Group Featuring Jimmy Heath, Al Heath, And Modern Jazz Quartet founding member Percy Heath
The Smilin Billy Suite was used for Nas “One Love”, Redman- Supaman Luva 4, and The Beatnuts “Ya Dont Stop”
The Beatnuts- Ya Dont Stop
Nas- One Love Instrumental (Produced by Q Tip)
2.MFSB- Something for Nothing
MFSB was a pool of more than thirty studio musicians based at Philadelphia’s famed Sigma Sound Studios. They worked closely with the production team of Gamble and Huff and producer/arranger Thom Bell, and backed up such groups as Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, the O’Jays, the Stylistics, the Spinners, Wilson Pickett, and Billy Paul.
This was used by Jay-Z, Can-I-Bus and Many More!!
Jay-Z “What More Can I Say” (Prouduced by the Buchannans)
3.Issac Hayes- Hung Up On My Baby
This Classic Soul Gem originally appeared on the Tough Guys Soundtrack in which Isaac Hayes starred in as well. Scarface would throw it in the sampler to launch the Geto Boys to the forefront of the Gangsta Rap genre.
Geto Boys “Minds Playing Tricks On Me” (Instrumental) Produced by Scarface.
4. Thoda Resham- “Lagta Hai”
DJ Quick re-worked this gem for Truth Hurt’s Top 10 Hit “Addictive” but would later be on the receiving end of a $500 million dollar copy write infringement lawsuit. Ironically enough, this isn’t the first time this song was sampled. Here is the same sample, worked over the same B.T Express drums as DJ Quiks, but released first. It’s called “kaaliyon ka chaman”
UMI10′s “Kaliyon Ka Chaman Jab Banta Hain” (2000) featuring Meghna Naidu. “kaaliyon ka chaman”
The Truth Hurts- Addictive Featuring Rakim (2002)
5. Tom Scott – Today
Tom Scott was born in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of prolific film and television composer Nathan Scott.
His best-known works are the theme songs for TV series from the 1970s and 1980s — Starsky and Hutch and The Streets of San Francisco, and his soprano sax solo and fills on the 1975 #1 hit single Listen to What the Man Said for Wings. In 1982, Scott also collaborated with Johnny Mathis to write & record two versions – lyrical and instrumental – of “Without Us”, the theme to the 80′s sitcom Family Ties.
“Today” Was soulfully re-worked by Black Sheep on “Similac Child” But will always be known for being the musical bed to the Hip-Hop Mega Classic “T.R.O.Y” by Pete Rock and C.l Smooth

The 49ers Release “Reminisce” Video ft. Tribeca and Acharu with guest cameo by Kool Keith
The 49ers (Marchitect and Jas Mace) are a Hip-Hop duo who have spread their music from their native Delaware to the furthest stretches of the map. Since their first record deal in the territory in Japan in 2007, they have appeared on releases totalling 6 million in sales (including three of their own albums , and the wildly popular In Ya Mellow Tone Compilation Series). They followed up their critically acclaimed ULTRASOUND, with their latest effort MUSAIC. After being featured on ALLHIPHOP.COM for MUSAIC the group presents the new music video “REMINSICE” ft. Bronx Rapper Tribeca, and Japanese songstress Acharu. The song effortlessly blends two Hip-Hop cutlures and languages, to make for one universal sound as it brings the viewer on a trip down memory lane. The video features a guest cameo by the illusive Hip-Hop pioneer Kool Keith (Ultramagnetic Mc’s), and was filmed in three different states in America. “We have been spreading our music across the globe and different Hip-Hop cultures for sometime now, so we approach our music with a more universal feel and appeal.”- said group member and the video’s co-director Marchitect. The 49ers extensive catalog can be previewed and purchased on Itunes or www.yaheard.com which the group members own and operate. The 49ers will embark on a world tour in October, which includes dates from New York City to Thailand.
