Yaheard.com FlashBack….1994 Marchitect- Dead In Your Tracks
“Marchitect has a solid future as a rapper”- Billboard Magazine 1994

1994 was a year that is included in the “Golden Era” of Hip-Hop. An era when A Tribe Called Quest, Black Moon, Krs One, Gangstarr, Dr. Dre, and many now considered classic Hip-Hop artists dominated the airwaves. The market was saturated with quality Hip-Hop from all coasts. Sampling, was still do-able, and “Selling Out” (changing the style of you music to achieve pop success) was frowned upon and not the norm. This was the year when Marchitect (one half of the group The 49ers), broke out with his single “Dead In Your Tracks” which was produced by Strata-G who would go on to become Grouchy Greg, the founder of Allhiphop.com. The Vinyl sells for as high as $500 copy on the internet. Grouchy, Marchitect, Jas Mace, Mr. Saturdaynight, HKT, and Herb Neal ran Supreme Science recordings, and all dropped their own material. Here’s a little slice of The Golden Era of Hip-Hop
