In the late 70’s, a youth culture evolved in the poorer parts of New York which combined several disciplines under the name of Hip Hop. Apart from the four classic elements of graffiti, DJing, breakdancing, and rapping, the musical side of this culture was enhanced by a fifth element called ‘Beatboxing’.
From the hardship of poverty and the lack of instruments, pioneers were inspired to imitate drum rhythms with their mouths – creating the phenomenon and term “Human BeatBox”

Delaware Valley Hip-Hop Legend Pooch Returns with “Dirty Dancing”
If you were anywhere in the Philadelphia area in the late 80′s you heard Pooch’s Music Via his group Cage One.Pooch and his Dj Mike C were amongst the first Delaware Artists to have a successful twelve inch single. Their name was an acronym from Can Africans Get Equality, and they represented the infamous Brookmont section of Delaware to the fullest. That classic vinyl, (Straight Outta Cage) now sells across the internet for upwards to $500 dollars a copy.
Pooch remained on the scene, but the fine line between reality and rap, would be erased, and legal issues would side line the Hip-Hop veteran with a golden voice. After trials and tribulations, Pooch linked with platinum producers Flex and Hated (they’ve crafted hits for Puff Daddy, and The Pussycat Dolls) and became dedicated to the music business full- time, focusing on his natural rap ability.
Pooch spawned a whole generation of Delaware Rappers, who were influenced by his independent hustle and grind, including artists like The 49ers, Hezekiah, and Flex and Hated themselves, who all listened to and were aware of his ground breaking music during the days when Public Enemy reigned supreme.
Keeping current with the times, Pooch recently released the single and 3d video “Dirty Dancing”. The song is an ode, to the beautiful women, that come along with the Hip-Hop Lifestyle. It shows, this street kings, diversity and that as well as get grimy, or educate you, Pooch can also ENTERTAIN you.
