Fredro Starr From Onyx Releases New EP “A Few Joints”

Fredro Starr from Onyx has made a solid name for himself in Hip Hop. His group rose to the top of the genre with a gritty sound and signature look. Many albums later, hits like “Slam” remain in rotation. Fredro would branch out into acting, earning roles in big budget Hollywood movies and television shows.

Fredro is back in the recording booth and recently released “A Few Joints”. The EP was produced by the late Chyskillz who also was behind the boards for classic Onyx hits like “Throw Ya Gunz”, “Slam” and “Shiftee”.

“Before Chyskillz passed we did a few joints, just hanging out in the studio in Queens” Fredro Starr explains. “A Few Joints” has a New York City feel, and a true Hip Hop vibe. Fredro even pays homage to fellow Queens rapper the late great Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest on “Punk MCs”

“On this project I didn’t write the rhymes, every verse is off the top of the head, this is what real hip hop is supposed to sound like” says Fredro Starr.
